Bloody Bridge
Bloody Bridge
Bloody Bridge is a beautiful spot from which to start a climb into the Mourne mountains in Newcastle, County Down. It is beside the Irish Sea and on a clear day you can get a good views across the sea. The name Bloody Bridge refers to a massacre at the site in 1641.

I took this photo on a rather overcast day and thought I would do something to make it look a bit more interesting. With the formation of the Mourne mountains dating back to the Ice Age I thought I would give it an icy feeling, to try to capture what it may have looked like surrounded by ice.
